I thought I’d share the story (as I recall it) of when and how I built my passive directory.

In this story, I want you to get an idea of how much time a project like takes, how much it costs to start, and hopefully realize that this was a result of my quickness to apply what little SEO I knew and got very lucky.

Market conditions (What the SEO landscape was before, in 2022)

In 2022, a majority of SEO world was happy. There was hope in the air. Small web publishers were thriving in many cases.

Niche Site Lady, a travel blogger, was making $60k/month for a loooong time. I know others who had affiliate websites.

One guy I met had one earning $20k/month in the BBQ niche. He sold expensive BBQers for thousands, and would get a nice commission for every sale.
